Pandemic Cleaning

The Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of infection control cleaning as a required part of any good cleaning scope.  Collings have been urging clients of this important aspect for over five years.

We all need to play or part in protecting people including good hand hygiene, social distancing, staying home when you are sick and effective cleaning processes.

Preventive Cleaning

Safe Work Australia recommends daily cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces.  This is a two-step process:

  1. Clean the surface with a mild detergent to remove grease, oils, and organic material.
  2. Disinfect the surface with a TGA approved chemical or system.

With more than ten years’ experience in healthcare cleaning including hospitals and residential care facilities we have a system that effectively and efficiently cleans and disinfects.  Our system includes documented processes, adequate resource allocation, highly trained people and checking and coaching.

If you are unsure your cleaning is adequate to reduce the risk of further infection spread, need to engage someone to provide preventive cleaning service, or just need some advice, please contact us on 6334 25220.

Decontamination Cleaning

When you have had an infectious outbreak, you need to be confident that you have removed the risk of further spread to your people and customers.  We have two methods for decontamination cleaning that are available to you.  Our highly trained team have previous experience with terminal cleans.  This is a process for decontaminating a room/building where we work from top to bottom, front to back, cleaning all surfaces and then disinfecting all surfaces with a TGA approved disinfectant.  We use an accelerated hydrogen peroxide chemical, which requires only one minute contact time to kill SARS-CoV2 (the virus that causes Covid-19).  This is vastly more efficient that most disinfectants that require ten minutes of contact time.

The second option is the use of the NocoMax unit.  This is an automated airborne disinfection unit which has been manufactured in compliance with the French standard NFT 72 281, the requirement from the TGA.  Collings have one of three NocoMax units in Australia, which can disinfect up to 20,000 cubic meters at a time.  With this system, we go through the building and clean surfaces to remove grease, oils, and organic material, and then setup the NocoMax unit in the middle of each area, turn the unit on, close all the doors and come back between 30minutes and 2 hours and pack up.
